- DONT wear the colour red to work/Uni, intentionally or un-intentionally, as you WILL be subject to teasing or offers to become a "Valentines Day" mascot
- DONT hang out with other couples, as they will either be a)MUSHY or b)having an argument regardless of your precense..
- DO hang with other un-attached people... 1) Anti-Valentine people are amusing, but CAN get tiring
2) people with their Valentines overseas are a good choice as they wont whine about their inability to get a Valentine, but DO expect them to tune out while you'e talking, as they have other things/people on their minds..
3)people regarding Valentines day as "just another day" are the most fun ones to hang with.. you can joke to each other about how pathetic the rest of the world is, in comparison to the 'cool' two of you =)
- DONT have lunch/dinner at places listed in the "Top 10 Romantic Places to Eat in Brunei" e.g, Fratinis, West Street Cafe... but then even McDonalds have Valentine Set Meals, so you're pretty much screwed...
- if you DO have a date for Valentines day, make sure both of you know just what type of date it is.. Valentines Day can make a simple "lets-go-somewhere-to-chill-and-get-to-know-each-other-better" date evolve into a "romantic-dinner-with-hidden-ulterior-motives" type date... its the romanitic undertones of Valentines that make everything have mixed signals..
- if you happen to be walking alone in a public space, e.g The Mall, and there are couples everywhere you look, DO develop a confident stance... project the image "Single Independant" not "Unwanted Doormat".. no matter how uncomfortable the smug stares of the attached couples..
- DONT ask someone out on a date just so you wont be alone on Valentines Day.. ultimate LOW.. and you could be sending out mixed signals to the hopefuls...
heheh, just stupid stuff coming outta my head =p
hope the shoutbox is up soon...
i opened my email inbox to Kaka M.J asking me if i wanted to participate in her University project for her Communications Honours Course.. and its about the Social Effects of Friendster in the Bruneian Community.. which i think is TOTALLY AWESOME.. and damn.. i had the idea of doing a study on Friendster and how it effects the teenage community of Brunei ever since i saw most of the users in MaktabDulis ICT Lab logged into Friendster...
i miss the MJ family.. i even bumped into M.J the Third at the Mall on Valentines night.. hes grown up!! no more shy little boy with gaboo cheeks that me n Mel picked up from PDS.. HE came up to ME in Best Eastern, and terus salam-ed me.. at first i was like "who on earth is this boy".. panya MJ3!! holding roses no less.. he claimed he was on a "just-friends" date.. sigh, hes turning 15 methinks... they grow up so fast...
